Desiring a Husband
Are you tired of dating? Do you long to be a wife? A mother?
Is the world leaving you feeling empty and unfulfilled?
Are you in a career path to success, but just want to manage a home?
Are you wondering what your day job is doing to make an impact in eternity?
Do you long for someone you haven’t even met? You’re in the right place.
A Promise
I cannot promise a fix to your problems nor an answer to your prayers, but I can offer a closer relationship to the Father who brings peace. I can promise He knows the desires of your heart.
Let’s talk about your future husband. Whether you have met him or not, you definitely need to be praying for him! What a difference you could make in his present life and in your lives together in the future.
Prayer is vital in all things. It is not just for the sick. It is for the weary, for the desperate, for the every day, for the mountain top views, for the valley woes, for the gut wrenching trenches, for the Monday blues, for the Saturday relief, for the rested, for the exhausted, for all. the. things. for. all. time.
The gospels depict Jesus spending much time in prayer, and if the Son of God needed to spend large amounts of time in prayer, how much more should we? And, if we find ourselves needing prayer to get through the day, how much more effort should we place on the one whom we shall spend our lives with?
A Prayer
There always seems to be a finish line to cross before we can get to what we truly want, right? If I can just finish high school. If I can just get to college. If I can just finish my degree. If I can just move to this new place. If I can just get this promotion… And on and on the cycle goes. But life isn’t a destination. It’s a journey. And we will never be complete this side of glory.
As Christians, we know our lives exist to honor and glorify the King. There is no existence without the one who gave His life for ours. We strive to bring him glory and to follow his commands with every aspect of our lives. And our marriages should be at the top of the list. Marriage was the first institution that God put in place. It is the end game for the whole world - the marriage feast between Christ and His bride - the church.
Whew! Talk about important. We, as Christian husbands and wives, literally mimic Christ and the church with our marriage. We should be an example of what that looks like. The world says marriage is disposable. Married today. Divorced tomorrow. Don’t like them anymore? Divorce them. Want different things in life now? Divorce them. We are called to be set apart. We should not look like the world.
Okay, okay. I know. You’re here because you WANT to be married. I’m getting there. :)
The Bible calls us to give our first fruits to God, so if you are aimlessly walking through this dating adventure or living your best single life and wondering what comes next, ask God what He wants from you. Hold what you thought you wanted with an open hand. You cannot want God’s best and expect Him to give you exactly what is on your “what I want in a man” list. It is highly likely that what you want and what He has in store for you are not the same things. (Ask me how I know.) But, I can promise you that what God gives you will be infinitely more than what you could have imagined. (Ask me how I know.)
I would also advise you not to go into a season of praying for your future husband thinking you are going to change him. While prayer is obviously powerful, your sole reason for praying should not be for his change. Your heart posture matters and where your intentions lie will affect your prayers. Your very first prayer in preparing for your future husband should be for God to change you. If you’re expecting your future husband to be your knight in shining armor (so to speak), you should be doing everything in your power to become the woman that knight would go to battle for.
“Search me, O God, and know my heart: try me, and know my thoughts: And see if there be any wicked way in me, and lead me in the way everlasting.” Psalm 139:23-24 KJV
A Plan
WHERE DO I EVEN START? Allow me to assist you. I have spent many hours putting together a prayer book for your future husband. I initially prepared these for the teenage girls at my church that are very near and dear to my heart. We walked through each prayer and discussed the importance of each. We spent months talking over the scripture and God’s heart for marriage. These prayers were created out of love and devotion and they are wrought with scripture. My prayer for this ebook “Praying for Your Future Husband” is that it will change lives by deepening relationships with Christ, build solid foundations for future marriages, and fight the battle between satan and the family unit with the most powerful name on earth: Jesus.

A Plea
*If you do not know Jesus Christ as your Saviour, I invite you to meet with Him. Allow Him to introduce Himself to you by reading the book of John.
He came to this Earth as a baby born of a virgin, lived an earthly life fully man and fully God, was crucified for His righteousness, but rose again on the third day. He lives today and His blood covers our sins and washes us all clean. Giving us the ultimate gift of grace. You do not have to “fix yourself” or “get right” before you come to Him. In fact, you cannot fix yourself. And you cannot get right unless you come to Him first. He is the answer.
Ephesians 2:8-9 says, “For by grace are you saved through faith, but not of yourselves. It is the gift of God. Not of works, lest any man should boast.”
Romans 10:9 says, “That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.”
In John 14:6 Jesus says, “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No man cometh unto the Father but by me.”
